Introduction
Following the successful introduction of volume dashboards and the new exception management dashboard in preview mode, we are excited to announce the launch of the Dashboard Creator. This powerful tool empowers users to set up and manage customized dashboards, offering insights into both generic and cash exception oversight.
Why the Dashboard Creator?
The Dashboard Creator simplifies the process of configuring dashboards by allowing you to select specific processes and assign permissions, ensuring that the right teams have the appropriate level of visibility while maintaining data security. With clear, actionable insights and permission-based access, teams can resolve exceptions more efficiently and share relevant information with colleagues using secure, controlled methods.
How to set up new dashboards
To create a new dashboard, click the 'Dashboard' header and then select 'Create dashboard'. This action will take you to a configuration page where you can set up your dashboard from scratch.
You can assign a unique name to your dashboard and include a description that complements its purpose.
Then, you can choose from a list of available templates, including the previously launched Volume Dashboard and Exceptions Management Dashboard, now fully customizable to align with specific processes.
If you have mistakenly added a process during creation, you can easily remove it.
When selecting the Volume Dashboard template, if no processes are specified, the dashboard will automatically include all available processes. However, if specific processes are chosen, the volume widgets will display data corresponding to those selections.
Similarly, for the Exceptions Management Dashboard, if no processes are added, the dashboard will default to displaying all processes you have permission to access. Any selected processes will be specifically reflected in the volume widgets.
Permissions and Access Control
To facilitate efficient collaboration, the Dashboard Creator allows you to set user-level and group-level permissions. These permissions ensure that only authorized users can view, modify, or manage the dashboard content.Global roles:
- Dashboard Administrator: can create new dashboards.
- Dashboard-level roles:
- Viewer: can view the dashboard, but can't change any of its config.
- Config Admin: can change the dashboard's config, (not including permissions).
- User Admin: can change user/group permissions on the dashboard.
The dashboard-level permissions are equivalent to the process-level permissions that have the same names.
User-level permissions
In an organization, multiple users may need access to the same dashboard. Duco supports various user roles to accommodate this need:
Group-level permissions
Group permissions allow you to assign access rights to multiple users at once, streamlining the process of dashboard sharing and management.
By configuring both user and group permissions, you ensure secure and efficient access control.
