Duplicate a data input to save configuration time ⏱️
Duplicating an existing Data Input is the fastest way to set up a new input that shares the same structure and rules — for example, adding a new counterparty who provides data in the similar format as an existing one.
This feature allows you to instantly copy the configuration linked to an input, including the map, transformation, and filter rules, so you can deliver value fast.
How to duplicate an existing input
- Navigate to Data Inputs: In your Data Prep process, go to Data inputs (works for both main records or balances).
- Select and Duplicate: Select the input you want to copy (e.g., Broker A) from the list, then click the Duplicate button in the header bar.
- Select elements to copy: In the Duplicate input window, choose which configuration elements you want to carry over:
- Map and transform: Copies both field mappings and transformation rules.
- Field mappings: Copies rules that map source columns to output fields.
- Transformation rules: Copies rules applied to each field.
- Filter rules: Copies rules used to exclude specific records from the input.
- Tip: If the new input uses the exact same file format, select all options to maximise your time savings.
- Confirm: Click Duplicate to create the copy.
The new input will be added to your list, automatically labeled with (COPY) (e.g., Broker A (COPY)). Rename it according to your needs. Then review the configurations, adjust them and run with it!
