Decentralised multi-team triage
A variety of alternative triage processes can be achieved in Duco. A particular one to highlight is that of decentralised multi-team triage. In this case, teams self-allocate relevant exceptions after the process has been run:
Assigning exceptions
It is possible to easily re-assign exceptions in case of holidays, sickness or re-prioritisation. In these cases, operators will typically re-allocate or re-assign exceptions themselves.
Auto-close switched off
This document describes the investigation processes, if auto-closing of exceptions is switched on.
This provides the automation benefit of Duco identifying the same problem re-occurring for you.
However, in some cases, it may be more appropriate to treat each individual occurrence of a break as an independent exception which needs to be investigated independently and driven to resolution separately.
In this case, auto-closing of exceptions should be switched off.
Exception workflow switched off
This document describes the investigation processes when exception workflow is switched on.
This gives you the benefits of being able to
- Allocating & assigning exceptions to individuals
- Moving them through a review process to a closed state
- Ageing exceptions
However, in some cases, for example for ad-hoc data clean-up projects, it may be more appropriate to have workflow switched off. This is typically the case when no formal exception investigation process is followed.
In this case, it is recommended that users only use labelling & commenting to interact with the results, but do not close or manually match individual items.
