You can filter your reconciliation results data by the latest comment entered for a particular exception. Different from general text filtering, it is based on key word search.
Using the filter
You can filter by the Latest Comment in the same way as other columns.
Click the column header to open the filter options.
Choose “Contains” or “Does not contain.”
Enter one or more search terms.
Click Apply.
You can now use AND / OR logic between multiple terms to refine your search. You can also filter for items with BLANK comment.
Examples:
Find all records where the latest comment mentions “broker”:
Select Contains, enter broker, click Apply.Find records where the latest comment mentions “broker” OR “morgan”:
Select Contains, enter broker and morgan, choose OR, click Apply.Find records where the latest comment mentions both “broker” AND “morgan”:
Select Contains, enter broker and morgan, choose AND, click Apply.Find records where the latest comment does not mention “broker”:
Select Does not contain, enter broker, click Apply.
(This will also return items with no comment.)
Please note:
Filtering applies only to the most recent comment added to each item. Comments may have been added manually by a user or automatically through a workflow rule.
Additional details
Full, meaningful words only
For two-sided and single-sided processes you must enter full words only, and be aware that the search is case insensitive. So for example:
- "bro" won't return anything with "broker"
- "broker" will return "Broker", "BROKER", etc..
To focus on meaningful words, the most usual English words are ignored in the filtering e.g. "the", "about", "on", etc..
Note that the above is not true for Cash processes, where partial word searches will work.
Spaces are important
We use spaces to determine "words". This unfortunately is not compatible with some scripts that are fully or partially ideographic, such as Chinese or Japanese.
Minimum and maximum term length
There is a 3 character minimum required (most words with 1 or 2 characters are ignored), and maximum limit of 84 characters (please contact us if you have a requirement for filtering "words" longer than this limit, eg. certain identifier codes).
Exception workflow enablement required
The feature is designed to improve how exception investigations are done in Duco. So this feature only works for processes where Exception workflow has been enabled.
