Although Duco is used to match records automatically, it may sometimes be necessary to override the match results delivered. For example, a scenario where the input data is incomplete and a one-off fix is necessary.
You can override results in the following ways:
- Manually match two records from the Unmatched results
- Not duplicate to mark items as not duplicates
Preparation - record tracking
If you want to override match results, you will typically also want to enable record tracking - though this is not mandatory. When record tracking is enabled, manually overridden results remain overridden in subsequent runs of the process. With tracking disabled, you can still override results manually, but, if you run the process again, the overridden results will not carry over to the new results.
To go to the tracking tracking set up screen
- Click on Settings → Record tracking
If you are not familiar with record tracking, see the page Record tracking and ageing.
Manual matching
To match manually two records, you first need to bring the items Under review.
and then...
- Click on the Under review bucket on the left side of the screen
- Click on one record from the first data set
- Click on one record from the second data set
- Select Manually match from the Actions menu at the top of the screen
You will notice that the two records disappear from the Under review bucket and now appear as Manually matched in the Closed bucket on the left of the screen.
Duplicate inclusion
For some processes, you may struggle to identify a good combination of fields that can be used as record tracking keys (e.g. where there is limited data from counterparty). As a result, many items may be identified as duplicates in Duco after a run. These may in fact be individual items that need to be reconciled and investigated.
It is possible to mark these items as not duplicates. They will then be included in the run and become exceptions. Such items will be carried-over to next run if they remain unresolved, and will not be treated as duplicates again in subsequent runs if new records matching the same tracking keys are submitted.
To mark an item as not being a duplicate, first select the checkbox next to the applicable line item.
Select Actions. Choose Not duplicate from the drop-down.
