Predictive Labelling is a machine learning powered feature that automatically predicts labels for unmatched and partially matched exceptions in 2-sided reconciliation processes and can reduce labelling time by up to 50% and increase consistency and accuracy, making investigations easier.
It learns from your past activity, predicts the right labels, and customises suggestions to your processes. No searching or guesswork - just review, confirm, and apply in bulk, keeping humans in control.
Switching on the predictive labelling feature
Before you start
- Please note that only users who have “Config admin” rights to the reconciliation process will have access to the settings pages referenced in the further steps and so will be able to switch on/ off the predictive labelling feature.
- In order to be able to benefit from predictive labelling, please ensure the Exceptions Management has been turned on for your process. Head to this Help Centre article to learn how to configure and use exceptions workflow.
- Predictive labelling will be able to use the same labels a regular user would be, so we recommend checking this Creating Labels article to learn how to create new labels and manage existing ones.
Enabling predictive labelling
Predictive labelling feature can be enabled on a process by process basis, for any 2-sided reconciliation.
In order to switch the feature on:
- Navigate to the Settings page of your reconciliation process
- Go to the “Exceptions workflow” page
- Scroll down to the “Predictive labelling” section
- Switch on the “Predictive labelling” toggle
Now the predictive labelling is switched on for your reconciliation process.
How it works
Duco starts to train the prediction models as soon as the predictive labelling is enabled in the process. The models are specific to the environment.
If the prediction model reaches the 90% accuracy threshold, it will be deployed to your process, which happens once a day.
Only after a model is trained and deployed successfully, can you start to see predictions, which means you will start seeing predicted labels not earlier than the next day.
Please note that the more examples Duco sees per label, the better it will be able to predict and the higher the accuracy will be.
Using predictive labelling
New Predicted Labels column in the results views
When you switch on the predictive labelling, a new column in your results view will appear. Please note that all the process settings take effect starting the next run after the change.
When the model starts working and predicting labels, you will see predicted labels in this column. You can filter by this column, the same way as the column for manually applied labels.
The predicted labels will have a Duco’s AI sign next to them.
When hovering over the predicted label, Duco will also display the prediction confidence score.
Reviewing and applying/removing the labels
In order to manage the predicted labels, select the record you want to update by clicking on the checkbox of the record. This will show the menu of the available options on the right hand side of the screen.
Choose the “Review Predicted Labels” action from the Actions menu.
A view will open, allowing you to review and either apply or reject predicted labels.
To complete the action, pick the labels you would like to apply or remove and click on the “Apply” button. This allows you to save time on searching and applying labels, but still enables you to stay in the loop and control all the actions.
As soon as the record is updated, you will receive a notification in the notifications panel.
Please note that the same actions can be done for multiple records at once. To do this, you may select multiple records by clicking on the checkboxes. You can also narrow down the list by filtering on the reconciliation results screen first.
Auditability and transparency
Whenever you apply a predicted label, an action in the Audit log will be recorded, same as for the labels that were applied manually.
In the same way, this action will be recorded in the individual record history, visible from the right-hand side menu, History tab.
Points to note:
If a process is promoted from one environment to another, the predictive labelling settings will not be carried over and should be re-enabled.
If you do not see the Predictive Labelling in your reconciliation settings, please reach out to your Duco Client Success Manager to request the feature to be enabled.
The feature is available to all the clients, in all the pricing editions.
