In the upcoming July release, we are giving you more granular permission control for manual actions for your reconciliation processes.
Manual action permissions at rec level
When you have a number of recs involving multiple teams with overlapping responsibility in each rec, it is critical to ensure that you have full control on who can do what in each rec.
With the July release, you will be able to explicitly grant the following roles to each user or group at the process permission level.
- Exception Allocator - able to change group allocation between any groups
- Exception Closer - able to close an exception (not applicable in cash recs)
- Exception Force Closer - able to force close an exception (not applicable in cash recs)
- Manual Matcher - able to manual match
What Duco will migrate for you
These roles were previously configured in the Administration module. After the July release, they will be removed from there. And as part of our usual process to keep your existing configurations in place, we will automatically grant these roles in the appropriate processes, depending on the current configurations:
Case 1 - direct group assignment
Current configuration
A group Reconcilers has Exception Closer and Manual Matcher roles, and Reconcilers is an operator or investigator to the process DEFINTEX.
After release
Group Reconcilers will be given Exception Closer and Manual Matcher in process DEFINTEX.
Case 2 - user assignment through groups
Current configuration
User Lizzie Jones is part of group Reconcilers. Group Reconcilers has Exception Allocator, Exception Closer, Exception Force Closer and Manual Matcher roles. User Lizzie Jones is an operator or investigator to the process DEFINTEX.
After release
User Lizzie Jones will be given Exception Allocator, Exception Closer, Exception Force Closer and Manual Matcher in process DEFINTEX.
Case 3 - group assignment through overlapping users
Current configuration
User Lizzie Jones is part of group Forex Ops and Reconcilers. Group Reconcilers has Exception Allocator, Exception Closer, Exception Force Closer and Manual Matcher roles. Group Forex Ops has no global roles. Group Forex Ops is an operator or investigator to the process DEFINTEX.
So currently, Lizzie can close exceptions in process DEFINTEX, for example.
After release
Group Reconcilers will be given Exception Allocator, Exception Closer, Exception Force Closer and Manual Matcher in process DEFINTEX, but not Operator. Note that in this case, for any other users of group Reconcilers, who are not part of group Forex Ops, will NOT be able to do any manual action in process DEFINTEX because they are not an operator or investigator. You may consider reviewing and adjustment the role assignment for these cases.
